On Saturday, this time a trip to Brighton was on the program. Although one could have looked at West Ham against Man City, but the ticket prices bordered there already something on usury, and so we took rather the 10 pound gift for train tickets to Brighton in claim. Unfortunately, the weather was little exhilarating during the day and so one could visit the Strand-Esplanade only in somewhat "hazy" conditions.
In the city there was for it active hustle and bustle and in the narrow streets there were some curious stores and numerous flea markets to see. Before the departure by train - which one could use with the match ticket free - one still approved a Guinness in the station pub. And again from a plastic cup - what has become of the glasses... At the station already jammed the fans, but thanks to very good organization and a few trains in a row, all were brought quickly and on time to the stadium.
The stadium itself bears the sponsor name "American Express Community Stadium" named after the main sponsor of the club and is located in Falmer, a suburb of Brighton. It was opened only a few years ago (2011) and impresses with its somewhat daring roof construction. In any case, the seats are extremely comfortable, as both seat and backrest are upholstered - and not only in the VIP sector. Also the view seems to be very good from everywhere - all in all a successful new building.
The game was compared to the other games this weekend rather little intoxicating. Most of the action was based on chance and chances were scarce on both sides. Brighton showed why they are currently only in the lower half of the table herumtümpeln and Rotherham as an upstart acted very cautiously. So it was little surprising that from a chance action shortly before the break a goal fell. While numerous fans were already on the way to the break tea Brighton scored the much-celebrated leading goal. But Brighton was not really inspired by this. Already shortly after the break, the balance fell and then was about longer time again lull.At the end of the game, then actually Rotherham would have earned the victory more. But all chances were parried by the good goalkeeper of the Seagulls and so he was deservedly crowned Man of The Match. With the result, especially Rotherham could live well - for Brighton coach Sami Hyypiä but it should be tighter. The fans in any case no longer believe in a too long stay of the Finn. All in all, a rather weak game, but at least once again on a Saturday afternoon in suitable weather in the stadium. Knows one from Austria unfortunately so not at all more...
