Although one visited at the Olympic Games 2012 in London scarcely 10 days so some competitions of the pistol shooting up to the field field hockey, at the Olympia stadium one always only vorbeimarschiert.
Ab der season 2016 becomes the stadium the new homestead of West Ham United. But before that, it is still a venue for the Rugby World Cup, one of the largest sporting events in the world.
Although not exactly rule-savvy wanted to take the opportunity to visit a few new stadium in England and indulge in the flair of rugby. On the program was at the beginning a game of the New Zealand - the so-called All Blacks - against Namibia.
The way to the Olympic Park one already knew from the Olympic Games and so the arrival was quite simple. Before the kick-off, we had a stadium sausage, which was really great, especially for what we had already received in England. In time for the teams to enter the stadium, we arrived at the pitch, which was only a few meters away from one of the try lines. Afterwards the traditional "Haka" of the All Blacks followed - a ritual dance of the Maori which is to intimidate the opponent.
The dance would probably not have been needed, because New Zealand was clear favorite and showed that also from the beginning. Already at halftime, the game was decided and after New Zealand played in the second half on the other try line, the game for us plätschert something there.
The mood was still very fine. The rugby enthusiasm of the English was quite noticeable and so the wave went through the stadium a few times. also the very sporadic offensive actions of the men from Namibia were celebrated frenetically. When these efforts were then also rewarded by a try, this was cheered by spectators and players like the World Cup title itself.
New Zealand played the game but ultimately clear home. We were smarter by a few rules and more confused by numerous new rules. But we still had a few days to sort out these notches...
