About the Stadium:
The Stadion im Borussia-Park is the modern home of Borussia Mönchengladbach, located in Mönchengladbach, Germany. Opened in 2004, it replaced the historic Bökelbergstadion, marking a crucial step for the club into contemporary football.
A New Era for the Foals
The club needed modern facilities and increased capacity, as the old Bökelbergstadion, though cherished and host to Borussia Mönchengladbach's 1970s triumphs, could no longer meet Bundesliga demands. The new stadium boosted revenue and spectator experience.
From Bökelberg to Borussia-Park
Inaugurated on July 30, 2004, the move from the Bökelbergstadion, home for 50 years, was emotional. However, the new Stadion im Borussia-Park quickly became a fortress, carrying the "Foals" (die Fohlen) traditions forward in a contemporary setting.
