Actually, we wanted to visit a game of the San Marines League this weekend - which has the ingenious name `Campionato Dilettanti`. But unfortunately the game schedule prevented that, as there was no league game due to the cup. So we could not check whether the name is also program ;-)
Gottseidank a team from San Marino also participates in the Italian league. The club `San Marino Calcio` plays in the Stadio Olimpico in Serravalle, where the national team also plays its home games.
After visiting the city of San Marino and its really great castle, we drove to the stadium. The stadium has two long stands that would accommodate 7000 spectators. Next to the stadium is a large sports hall - where on the same day the Martial Art World Championships took place. Furthermore, the stadium of the San Marino Baseball Club is also located on the grounds. Sportily this club is to be placed surely over San Marino Calcio - they won nevertheless already twice the Italian championship and also twice the European cup.
After only two people stood before the cashes we thought already the play would begin only later, but it found itself altogether only very few visitors. Just 400 visitors wanted to root for the team in the penultimate round of the championship. Which was somewhat surprising, but San Marino Calcio was on a promotion place.
While on one longitudinal tribune the away fans (20 people consisting largely of mothers and girlfriends) took a seat, the rest was on the opposite tribune. An Ultras fan club (Nucleo 2000) consisting of about 10-15 people made themselves heard again and again loudly and also waved a large flag. In addition, the plastic chairs were also used as a loud drum replacement.
But the game against the table penultimate turned out to be more difficult than expected. The away team relied throughout on counterattacks and was also promptly rewarded in the 4th minute with the lead. After that, San Marino actually held the pressure almost throughout the game. But the sixteenth was mostly the end of the line, which was mainly due to the weak crosses. But virtually at the break the redeeming equalizer of the homeowners.
In half-time two the same picture, with the continuation of the game the Tabellennachzügler the condition but visibly went out. So San Marino was able to add twice and thus bring in the acclaimed home victory. Thus only one more victory is missing to the ascent (note: this was also driven in - San Marino thus again third-class).
