Since I have it with the French not so quite, it was not so easy to persuade me to a side trip to France. The route has it then but still required to make a small detour to the CS Sedan and also times a game in France.
Sedan is a small town in the Ardennes with just under 20,00 inhabitants. So it is quite surprising that this team has a stadium for 23,00 spectators. But after all, the club played from 1999-2003 and also 2006 in Ligue 1. And this year it looks quite good that Sedan could again start the way up - but currently mixes ím upper third of the table with.
That this game would also be well attended we noticed the day before as we wanted to buy the tickets on the Internet. Numerous sectors were already fully booked, and so we did not want to experiment and buy the cards online - which should prepare us in further consequence yet more annoying problems.
As we arrived the next day in Sedan, we drove times ahead of schedule to the stadium to pick up the cards in advance. The Ticket Office directly at the stadium had also already opened - but unfortunately no one there was the English powerful. After also with the vocabulary "tickets", "Internet", "Creditcard" and presented ID nothing was to be brought in experience, we were told that at 18 o'clock only someone is there for us (yes sure.....)
So we referred times the hotel - a small old castle-like building on the outskirts of the city. Visually quite nice to look at - but the rooms were rather substandard and the bed construction reminded me strongly of my army time in Langenlebarn. Thus, we had no reason to stay there longer, so out on the street and a nice pub (which is probably called bistro with the French) looking.
This we had also found quickly, because in the bar "Au Bon Coin" was already hoisted the club flag. So nothing like pure and ordered with our grandiose vocabulary "deux bieres". The fact that there were no guests in the restaurant for hours bothered us rather little - we would not have understood anything anyway. So we remained wenigsts time our school French from the back brain cells hervorzukramen and us a sentence together to rhyme, with which we should then still come to our cards.
In the meantime, it was also clear to the landlords that we are not locals. And since we nevertheless chirped a few beers, they wanted to be nice and invite us times on a beer. That we have not understood this was also clear - and thus only a scarce "oui" was unpacked (would not like to know what he has thought...). But that was accepted with a smile and we still got our free drink.
Then off to the ticket office where we unpacked our brilliantly prepared set. Unfortunately, there were not the tickets in the ticket office, but we were sent to the other side of the stadium where we got the tickets in an envelope from a nice lady from a Holzhütte hindurch durche fence handed. Rustic, but effective.
But our goal was not yet reached, we still had to find our seats. And due to the somewhat dubious marking were not only us, but also 3 stewards so confused that they us in the end in the 3rd floor in a sector quarter. The we then had 90 minutes to two in seizure - nice special treatment *g*.
The game was as so often in recent days a clear Anglegenheit for the home team, the guests from Vannes doch with 4:0 sent home. Towards the end of the game even ran the wave through the stadium, in which we participated of course. Due to our small number (2) gabs for this sacrifice also applause from the secondary sector.
After the final whistle, the fans could cheer the current second place in the table and there was still a nearly quarter-hour laser show, which was quite nice to watch (even if the techno sound is not quite my thing).
After a final beer in our already familiar Beisl gings off to the hotel - where we realized in the night that you can hardly sleep with a killer fire. Even more so where the tap water smells so much like chlorine that you don't dare drink it. Nevertheless, a nice groundhopping excursion - next time we should refresh our vocabulary just in advance something.
Salut...
