Wiener Sport-Club : SK Vorwärts Steyr

This match took place as part of the Sportclub Summer Cup in Vienna. In order to be on site in time for the event, the team arrived on Friday. The necessary accommodation was quickly found in the Wombats Hostel and so we were able to go straight to the guest garden for a few Krügerl.

After spending the evening with several beers, ciders and vodka-lemon, we set off on Saturday to the Sportklub pitch. This was also found quickly. However, at the official starting time of 13:00 no one was there. So we went to the nearby guest bar in the "Schmankerl-Stube", where we were able to get one or two live insights into everyday life in Wient *g*.

Then we went to the pitch, where we secured free tickets for the game by saying a short "FM4-Sager". The Sportklub pitch is located "very british" in the middle of a residential area and has been around for a few years - but it hasn't lost its charm. The home fans have their regular seat on the so-called cemetery stand (so-called because there is a cemetery right behind it). Opposite, a new grandstand was built, but it was not open due to the rather meagre attendance on that day. This grandstand is also built steeply upwards, which is not otherwise possible in this location.

The match was very one-sided, which was mainly due to the fact that the Sportklub only fielded a B-team, as the Cup preliminary round was scheduled for the next day. In the end, Steyr clearly won 4:0.

In the end, the tournament was won by Blau-Weiß Linz. However, the main thing for both players and fans was to have fun.
